Hodge Moment

Its good to get the Hodge moment of the trip out of the way.  In New York it was when I organised tickets for Jay Leno and it turned out that the show was in LA.  The hodge moment of the trip happened on our very first day - I hope it was down to jet lag.  we set off to Bellagio just down the road for a gelati and a wander.  10kms down the road still no Bellegaio.  This may not seem far - but in Italy and in a big car that proving impossible to drive - 10kms means 40 mins of windy road and many near misses - not much fun.  It turns out we were going in the wrong direction.  Lesson learned ALWAYS USE THE GPS.  I am still married (only just) - I got off it fairly lightly 30min massage every night for the rest of my life and the kids just wanted an ice cream.  I'm OK with that punishment and even the odd comment about how close Bellagio is to our villa as we completed the 2 hour round trip!

  3. I want to comment on your plane essentials. Where was the pashmina to wrap around you while you slept peacefully for 8 hours and what about the clean undies. I bet you loved every page of the book and have already finished it. Can you review for me please - was it Water for Elephants?
Which children were air-sick. Did you use the nausea pressure points at the same time you did the time adjustment pressure points? Did you get the gelati in Belagio and what flavours? Has George had you over for dinner yet?
I don't blame Lucy for nearly crying at Milan airport - it is one of the ugliest airports I've landed at.
I hope I get a more relaxing flight when I fly to London, although with my 'special' company and issues I think I'll be reaching for the herbal relaxation drugs and a stiff gin and tonic (not game to take real drugs with me).
    Love to you all.
