Tears, tantrums and panadol
Two hours into the flight and I am told by child number 3 that this is not fun and that "he wants to get off the plane". Not a good start. Things can only get better I think to myself. With 100 movies on offer, and a polite air hosties on offer to bring me food, drinks and snack basket whenever I press that magic buzzer, surely things are going to improve. The good news is that bambino number 3 fell fast asleep - the bad news he fell asleep on my lap just as I was pondering if I should brave the airplane rest rooms. Not my best timing.
I have learnt a few lessons on this trip already, and the first one is that there is some danger in making your first plane experience with your children on a long haul flight, as you wont know until its too late if they suffer from air sickness until you are up in the air. Now we know, that 2 of our kids suffer from air sickness. Good to know now - not so good from them, but would have been a lot better if we knew before we set off on a 24 hour flight.
Apart from the tears, tantrums, vomits and having to administer panadol to adults and children it wasn't a bad flight and seemed to go fairly quickly. we arrived in milan on a very hot saturday afternoon to a stinky, grubby airport and child number 1 nearly cried when she thought that milan airport was what italy was all about. a long windy trip in a huge car (another story save that for tomorrow) more vomits and we have arrived at the most beautiful part of italy I have ever seen - no wonder George lives here! Takeaway pizza and a 10 euro bottle of wine and no more vomits we might just be in for a great holiday afterall.

I am very disappointed to hear that Charlie fell asleep... that was not his plan and I think he should have stuck to the plan of staying awake the whole way. Very happy to hear that you have food and wine - life's little essentials. Can't wait to hear more.
