I was quite emotional when I did my first blog post for this trip and for my last post I feel the same way. This trip was a long time coming . we were due to go last year but due to dodgy health we had to cancel. When I was planning this holiday I though many times that it was never going to happen and so many times I thought I just HAD to make it happen.
I have been very lucky and blessed as i have seen a lot of the world from many different angles, backpacking to 5 stars with friends and family. I have managed to enjoy it all. But having said that this holiday has been close to perfect and the best yet.
There have been so many highlights, so many memories and even the odd low light (crazy Italians and fights with Frenchmen) we have laughed and enjoyed all of it.
I didn't make lemon butter and the truth is I probably never will as I'm loving searching fir the ideal place to make it.
i could have quite easily made it in Provence. It was the perfect setting of an idyllic life, cycling to villages, morning markets, freshly baked croissants, cheese, wine etc etc. and plenty of time to do nothing.
Our biggest surprise of the trip was London. It's always wonderful to catch up with family, but we discovered once again a perfect setting. An idyllic life. With Hyde park across the road and the perfect hotel with the Berkeley I could have easily put some closure to my quest. The solution in London would be not to make the lemon butter myself but to simply place a call to reception and ask them to whip up a batch. i could collect it after I've finished watching the kids in the rooftop swimming pool! Oh the choices we have to make.
Until next time...
