Competitive

I know that everyone in our family is competitive bit it didn't ring true to me until we completed 2 of the walks at Katherine gorge

We set off this morning on a short walk to get our bearings. We ended up on a trial that was a 2 hour walk to the gorge. We broke all the rules not everyone had proper footwear and although we had hats and sunscreen we didn't have water food or money. It wasn't long before the whinging set in loud and clear. I'm hot. I'm thirsty. I'm tired. My legs are sore. Are we there yet? Then it all came back to me.. You always forget the bad bits about travelling with children. Upon return of a holiday you only remember the good bits. Nothing bad. There is was coming back to me sometimes travelling with children can bring out the worst in them.

After lunch and a sleep we went off exploring again. Before we had left the confines of our luxurious abode the complaints started. A quick pep talk about threatening to send them to the caravan park tonight kept everyone motivated to enjoy the moment.,

It was mid afternoon and the choices of short walks were limited. We had chosen a walk that would take about 3 hours. We declared that 3 hours was for slow people which was definitely not us so off we set at a blistering pace. Lucy set her gps watch and counted down the kms to the end. We won of course we beat the slow people even if Lucy and I did run the last 2kms.
