I wish Scotty did beam me up
I tried very hard to enjoy the flight and I did watch 3 movies and 3 episodes of gossip girl (I can't believe it's been absent from my life until now) which means I didn't sleep a wink. It was a repeat of several years ago when I wrote about tears tantrums and panadol on a flight from brisbane to Italy with the kids. This time it was tears, vomits and would you like more wine madam as it appears we may have run out sick bags. Once we arrived in LA and got the hell out of there down to the self contained bubble of goodness that is Disneyland all was good with the world. The upside of not sleeping on the plane is that after an afternoon of rides and sampling more wine from the free wine hours it was time for a sleep. At 5.30ppm in the afternoon I was dubious but I managed to pull off a 15 hour sleep and felt much happier about the memory of the plane trip that was.
After spending our first 24 hours in Disneyland it appears that we have a very narrow view of the world. Z said that I was the skinniest person in Disneyland (a good reason to never leave). Lucy saw someone drinking diet coke at breakfast (at least it was diet). Although this country offers so many no fat, low fat, half fat options it's so confusing you don't know what you have signed up for. Large seems extra large and grande is like a bucket. My other favourite thing is the mobility scooter, why walk and have sore legs from a long day whe you can ride one of these. I'm sure there a lot of people doing a George kastanza from seinfield. Lunch yesterday was a cheeseburger that would have fed at least 3 of us. Chips with everything. It's truly the land of supersize me.
We've had a big day with 12 rides ticked off. No roller coaster yet. A few tears. Rest assured I havebeen a fun mum but dad is much funner. The highlight of the day was the hotel pool (heated)) and the waterside. We could have just stayed at the coast. Still lots more to explore....
