What's the right age to enjoy Disneyland?

I look at all the little girls aged 4 maybe 5 decked out head to toe in beautiful princess clothes and think maybe we have left Disneyland experience too late for our girls. Then I see the same parents pushing strollers with kids fast asleep or even worse a mother hysterical in the cars speed racer queue at 10pm at night because she was worried her little princess was going to fall asleep and miss the whole dam thing!

Charlie is right into it. Loves it all and believes in the magic but cried during the Indiana jones ride because he didn't like the dark.  Lucy has cried just before every ride but once done it thought it was quite alright and wouldn't mind another go. Georgie has been up for everything and wants more. We have stayed together as a family unit but it's been hard to find the right balance between adventure z and Georgie. Excitement but not too dark Charlie. Please don't make me go on that ride Lucy and as for me I will do anything to be called a fun mum but to be honest being scared out of my wits is not my idea of fun but I need to put on a brave face.

Last night we went to the world of colour light show. We got there late and didn't have a great view of the water spectacular. Once it started I knew it was going to be useless so I snuck Charlie into a reserved viewing area for a better look. Quick when the ushers weren't looking I signalled for the others to come across. We had a great view and enjoyed the show.  z was stuck behind some annoying mother who kept on pointing out the disney characters look there's tinker bell there's goofy there's Mickey. After a night of magic all z could say was clearly that child watched way too much tv to know all those characters. Maybe z is not the right age for Disneyland but he sure loves those roller coasters.
